Zhaplin, the maker of unique contemporary interior products has made its mark and presence in the industry by utilizing aluminium as its base material for all its products.
Why Aluminium?
Aluminium
After iron, aluminium is now the second most widely used metal in the world. This is because aluminium has unique combination of attractive properties.
Low weight, high strength, superior malleability, easy machining, excellent corrosion resistance, good thermal and electrical conductivity, easy joining and zero toxicity are just amongst aluminium's most important properties that are greatly utilized in any industry.
Movement towards green environment and green products has been the direction of everyone in today's modern times. As such, aluminium plays an important role being an ECO-friendly element. Refining aluminium alone from its ore is still a costly process. This is why aluminium is often recycled as it can be re-melted easily. Recycling aluminium requires only 5% of the energy and produces only 5% of carbon dioxide (the CO2) emissions as compared with in primary production of the metals and reduces the waste going to landfill. Aluminium can be recycled indefinitely, as reprocessing does not damage its structure. Aluminium is also the most cost-effective material to recycle.
Aluminium can be welded using a very high temperature such as arc-welding machine and a stick of aluminum. Aluminium can also be brazed or soldered with other metals and can also be made harder and as strong as steel when formed as an alloy. An alloy is a mixture of various elements designed to give that special characteristics that pure metals do not have.
These are but a few of the important properties and characteristics that attracted Zhaplin to focus its attention to aluminium.
